BORTH NATIONAL TEAM MEETING - 15th/16th/17th July 2015

Aim:

In July 2015 Towards Hydrocitizenship will be approaching its mid waypoint and each case study area will be putting together plans for artistic work.  This meeting in Borth and Tal-y-bont aims to provide an opportunity for team members to collectively reflect upon proposed practical methods and to develop shared strategies for documentation and dissemination.

Objectives:

With this aim in mind, this meeting seeks to:

  • provide an opportunity for the four case study teams to formally report on their progress to date and to outline plans for the future. This reporting will take the form of 4 x 20 minute team presentations followed by wider team discussion.
  • provide an opportunity for team members to engage in small group discussions around the ‘emerging themes’ identified in the previous team meeting in Shipley. These discussions will take place after the team presentations. Thereby allowing for team members to identify possible crossovers in programmed activity and methodology. In much the same way that the ‘emerging themes’ were identified in the previous meeting, this exercise might provide an opportunity to identify ‘emerging points of connection’ and opportunities for written and practical collaboration.
  • introduce team members to the local case study area of Borth and Tal-y-bont.
  • provide an opportunity for the wider team to engage in dialogue with national stakeholders.
  • begin conversations about documentation, dissemination and legacy.

Questions:

  1. In what ways are each of the case study teams approaching the current and future Work Packages  and how is this work informed by earlier work?
  2. How do the ‘emerging themes’ relate to the planned activities in each of the case study areas and what do the ‘emerging points connection’ offer by way of integration?
  3. In what ways do the different case study teams plan to document and disseminate artistic process and product?

Travel

Borth is one stop short of Aberystwyth and can be and the accommodation is a ten minute walk from the station. If you are travelling in a group then we recommend sharing a hire car. This may be much cheaper and it will enable attendees to travel between the two case study locations without the need for public transport.
